Altar Servers serve at the altar to assist the Presider at Mass. Altar servers serve at all weekend liturgies and special Masses throughout the year. Some of the tasks performed by the altar servers are: carrying the cross or candles in the processional and recessional, assisting the Presider with set-up of table for Eucharist.  
 Altar servers serve as little as once a month to every weekend at Mass.

 Training is provided during the year. The Altar Server Ministry is open to boys and girls from the 4th grade and above.  If you are interested in becoming part of this ministry, please contact the Parish House at 973-543-5950

The Ministry of Lector is a work through which the Word is proclaimed to the people of God. The reading of the Word is a most important part of our liturgical celebration at Saint Joseph. Our lectors usually serve twice a month at a Mass time of their choice. Anyone interested in learning more about this ministry is asked to contact the Parish House 973-543-5950
