Rev. Msgr. Joseph T. Anginoli, J.C.L
Msgr. Joseph Anginoli was born on September 8, 1948 to the late Mary and Joseph Anginoli. He has a sister, Regina, of Cranford, New Jersey and a brother, Vincent, of Arizona. He is a native of Cranford and graduated from Union Catholic Boys High School in Scotch Plains, New Jersey.
He attended Saint Mary’s College in Kentucky and received a Bachelor’s Degree in Philosophy. Msgr. Anginoli completed his studies for the priesthood at Saint Mary’s Seminary and University in Baltimore, Maryland, where he earned a Masters in Pastoral Theology.
He served his Diaconate Internship at Saint Nicholas Parish, Passaic, New Jersey, and was ordained a priest on May 24, 1975 by the late Bishop Lawrence B. Casey at Saint John’s Cathedral in Paterson, New Jersey.
Msgr. Anginoli taught at Paterson Catholic High School and was Parochial Vicar at Sacred Heart Parish, Clifton, New Jersey. He was also Parochial Vicar at Annunciation Parish, Wayne, New Jersey and served as part-time Parochial Vicar at Saint Patrick’s in Chatham, New Jersey.
Msgr. Anginoli was appointed a part-time auditor-notary in the Diocesan Tribunal. He received a Licentiate in Canon Law after completing graduate studies at Saint Paul University in Ottawa, Canada. He was appointed an Advocate and Defender of the Bond of the Tribunal. Father Anginoli was named a Judge on the Tribunal in 1989 while remaining a Defender of the Bond. He currently serves as the Tribunal’s Adjunct Judicial Vicar.
Msgr. Anginoli was named Pastor of Saint Simon the Apostle Parish in Newfoundland, New Jersey in 1994 after having served as the Parish Administrator in 1993. In 1999, he was elected Dean of Northern Morris County and was re-elected in 2000. He served part-time in the Vocation Office and was Treasurer of the Priests’ Senate.
In February 2005, Msgr. Anginoli was appointed Pastor of Saint Joseph Parish in Mendham, New Jersey. Msgr. Anginoli currently remains the Pastor of Saint Joseph Parish and he continues to serve as the Tribunal’s Adjunct Judicial Vicar of the Diocese of Paterson.
Msgr. Anginoli has an enthusiasm for cars which he received from his father at an early age, along with the experience of pumping gas at a filling station and working for General Motors during his high school and Seminary years. He has a love of dogs, particularly Schnauzers. Bart is the latest addition to the Parish House staff. He is a miniature schnauzer and a loyal companion for Msgr. Anginoli.
